Frenoplast was founded in 1985. Company manufactures friction materials and products mainly for railways but also for braking systems used in various industries.
Frenoplast railway products have been applied by PKP (Polish State Railways) in their Inter- and Eurocity trains. Obtaining an approval to UIC541-3 for its brake pad FR20H.2 for vehicles with speed up to 200 km/h by the International Union of Railways UIC in 1997, opened the company the ability to export to EU markets and to compete with German, French, English and Italian manufacturers on their own markets. Competition is helped by the virtues of Frenoplast pads: long disc and pad life as well as outstanding performance in winter conditions.
Frenoplast has developed it’s own technology for composite brake shoes type K, which are dedicated for use in freight cars.
Frenoplast received a provisional approval for its K-block to UIC541-4 in 2009. The final approval, after successful completion of service tests, was given on June 28th, 2012. However, for a few years already Frenoplast supplies composite brake shoes type K to EU for industrial rail operators and maintenance companies.
Frenoplast has ISO Quality System PN-EN ISO 9001:2001, PN-EN ISO 1400-:2005, PN-N-18001:2004, EN ISO 9001:2008 and IRIS certificate.
Frenoplast has been awarded a number of honours and prizes e.g.: „Fair Play Company”, „The Outstanding Polish Exporter”, „Europroduct 2000”, „Innovation Leader 2007”.
