PKP Energetyka S.A. is one of the leading Polish suppliers of electric energy. The Company operates in four areas: sale and distribution of electricity for both rail carriers (traction power) as well as individual and business customers (non-traction energy), power engineering services, and the sale of fuel for rail vehicles. 

PKP Energetyka S.A. operates its own distribution network, located both in the large city centres and less urbanized areas. PKP Energetyka S.A. has been certified in the areas of quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety systems with the PN-EN ISO 9001:2009, PN-EN ISO 14001:2005 and PN-N-18001:2004 standards within the scope of the following business activities: trade, transmission and distribution of electric power as well as installation and servicing of power grid and electrical equipment, production of power grid components and power engineering equipment.

PKP Energetyka S.A. is composed of:

• Trade Branch undertaking the sale of electric power,
• Distribution Branch responsible for supplying electric power to consumers,
• Fuel Branch, which sells liquid fuels, mainly to rail carriers,
• Services Branch, which includes 14 facilities providing a wide range of power engineering services,
• Power Engineering Works undertaking large contracts involving traction power engineering,
• Sales Division, responsible for the sale of electricity, product development and the Company’s customer service.

In 2014, PKP Energetyka S.A. achieved sales of about 4,3 billion PLN. During this time, the company sold 7,6 TWh of electricity. The company has repeatedly served as leader of consortia to modernize the railway or power lines. 

PKP Energetyka S.A. employs over 7100 people working in headquarters, branches and 15 regional departments.
